The project UTwente Site Index is part of the program Websites & Portals UT of the University of Twente.
Goal of this program is the renewal and streamlining of the somewhat chaotic collection of websites, subsites and accompanying content that have been set up in the past years by and for students and professionals working at or affiliated with the university. For this purpose a consortium of companies was formed to shape and realize these renewals.
To improve the findability of the content on the various sites and their subsites Trezorix has developed the UTwente Site Index, which is based on the RNA architecture and which specifically uses the indexing functionalities of the RNA Toolset. The content of the university is regularly scrutinized by a crawler after which metadata are being added to the index layer, in accordance with several defined criteria.
In the RNA environment several basic metadata are available that are being used in the indexing process. These can be edited and extended with the RNA Toolset.
